Davit Sakoyan composed songs and melodies since he was a child, but he did not receive primary music education because his parents did not encourage his passion for music. In order to fill that “gap”, he studied at the music department of the Armenian Pedagogical Institute (now a university), specializing in the art of group management, while composing. By the end of his studies, he already had many works, including the opera “Ara the Beautiful and Shamiram”, liturgy, etc.

Among his early works – children’s opera “Kikos and Kirakos” and the Concerto No. 1 dedicated to his mother for orchestra and chamber orchestra.
