biography

Studied in the elementary classes of the local Armenian school in Athens

1947 – immigrated to Armenia with his parents

1968-1972 – studied at the theoretical and composition departments at the Romanos Melikyan Music College in Yerevan

1977 – graduated from the Yerevan State Conservatory after Komitas (YSCK) (profs: E. Mirzoyan, G. Saryan, A. Terteryan, E. Baghdasaryan)

Since 1979 member of the Composers Union of the ASSR

Yerevan Art School No. 1 (teacher)

1991 – Handbook of woodwind instruments, Yerevan

1975 “Pepush”, children’s opera (based on the poem by V. Babayan)

1977, 1982, 1985 – 3 symphonies

1985 – Monument to the martyrs, requiem-cantata

1988 – “Immersed Sun”, dramatic cantata

1986 – “Topofono”, concerto for piano, windpipe, chamber orchestra

1986 – Ecloga, for flute, piano, percussion and chamber orchestra
