Studied in the elementary classes of the local Armenian school in Athens
1947 – immigrated to Armenia with his parents
1968-1972 – studied at the theoretical and composition departments at the Romanos Melikyan Music College in Yerevan
1977 – graduated from the Yerevan State Conservatory after Komitas (YSCK) (profs: E. Mirzoyan, G. Saryan, A. Terteryan, E. Baghdasaryan)
Since 1979 member of the Composers Union of the ASSR
