BIOGRAPHY

1961 – graduated from the piano department at the Yerevan State Conservatory after Komitas (YSCK)

1970 – graduated from the composition department at the YSCK

1956-1961 – The “Moscow” cinema in Yerevan (artistic director of the variety orchestra and the variety ensemble of the Armenian Television and Radio Committee)

1963-1966 – founder and leader of pop groups

1971-1974 – Faculty of art at Kh. Abovyan Armenian State Pedagogical University (lecturer)

1974-1989 – artistic director at the Composers Union of Armenia

1990 – The Variety symphonic orchestra of the Armenian Television and Radio (conductor-consultant)

Since 1994 – The Armenian Music Forum (founding member)

2009-2018 – A member of the Council of Elders of Yerevan city

Since 1997 – YSCK jazz-variety department (professor)

Music for more than 140 plays and more than 40 films of different genres, including “Hello, It’s Me”, “The Saroyan Brothers”, “Live Long”, “Nostalgy”, “Lonely Walnut”, “The Last Throw”, “A place under the sun”, “Summer has come again” and others.

Music for cartoons. “Wrong Expression”, “Sports, Sports, Sports”, “Party”, “Very Dangerous Adventures”, as well as documentaries “Byurakan Observatory”, “Students” and others. Author of 5 musicals.

1990 – Honored figure of culture of Armenia

2007 – Honorary citizen of Yerevan

2011 – People’s Artist of the Republic of Armenia

2017 – 1st degree order “For Services to the Motherland”
