1960 – Graduated from the piano department at the Yerevan State Conservatory after Komitas (YSCK) (prof. of G. Sarajev)
1961 – Graduated from the musicology department of the YSCK (prof. M. Harutyunyan)
1964-1967 – Post-graduate course of the Art Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia (NAS RA) (prof. Dr. Prof. N. Tahmizyan)

The collection work was carried out during 1970-2007 both through individual recordings and as a result of participation in student marches organized by the YSCK. The recordings were made in the villages of Aparan, Etchmiadzin, Hoktemberyan, Baghramyan, Hrazdan, Artik regions, Leninakan and Yerevan.
Author of more than 80 articles in encyclopedias, anthologies, magazines and newspapers, more than 30 presentations at scientific conferences, more than 10 CD and CD annotations, more than 20 edits, television programs and radio programs.
