1923 – Graduated from the cello department at the Tbilisi Conservatory (prof. K. Minyar-Beloruchev)
1932 – Graduated from the cello department at the Moscow Conservatory (prof: S. Kozolupov)
Yerevan State Conservatory after Komitas (lecturer)
1927-1930 – Director of music studio in Leninakan
1938 – organized the State Variety Orchestra of Armenia (1956 – handed the leadership of the orchestra to K. Orbelyan)
1943-1945 – directed the Yerevan Musical Comedy Theater
Since 1955 – Member of the CPSU
