CUA MEMBER, MUSICOLOGIST LILIT ARTEMYAN GAVE A SPEECH IN THE “INTERNATIONAL KOMITAS CONFERENCE 2024: KOMITAS’S LEGACY FROM A HISTORICAL AND CONTEMPORARY RESEARCH PERSPECTIVE” AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MUSIC AND PERFORMING ARTS VIENNA

On October 7th and 8th, the “International Komitas Conference 2024: The Legacy of Komitas from Historical and Contemporary Research Perspectives” was held at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. The conference was organized by the Komitas Museum-Institute, the Institute of Arts of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia and the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna under the honorary patronage of the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Austria.

I had the honor to present a research work entitled “Compositional Features and Performing Issues of Komitas’s “Dances”, which I concluded with a performance based on the findings of my research. It is noteworthy that this serious and extremely important conference dedicated to our genius was held at a high scientific and organizational level, in accordance with all international standards.
