HISTORICAL REVIEW

The concert hall of the Dilijan Composers’ Creativity House named after E. Mirzoyan was commissioned in 1984. On January 28, 1970, the project envisaged the construction of a sports hall with an estimated cost of 320,000 rubles. However, thanks to E. Mirzoyan’s brilliant move, in December 1970 the project was revised, becoming a concert and sports hall with funding in the amount of 3,000,000 rubles.

The National Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia and the National Academic Choir of Armenia performed at the opening of the concert hall. Excerpts from A. Khachaturian’s ballets “Gayane” and “Spartacus”, L. van Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, as well T. Khrennikov’s Piano Concerto No. 3 performed by the composer himself were performed.

The concert was conducted by conductor Valery Gergiev. The architect of the concert hall is E. Altunyan, and the author of the idea of ​​the ceiling shape is E. Mirzoyan.

The total number of spectators in the concert hall is 457 people.

The second round of the Mirzoyan competition and the gala concert will be held in this concert hall.

From May 12 to 14, the participants of the competition will live in the E. Mirzoyan House of Composers in Dilijan, which has rich historical traditions.
