THE 1ST MEETING OF THE NEWLY ELECTED CUA BOARD TOOK PLACE

By unanimous vote of the newly elected Board, Avetis Berberyan was elected Vice-Chairman of CUA

CUA Chairman Aram Satian presented the following proposals:

  • To expand the format of the E. Mirzoyan Young Composers Competition and make it international and hold it in the Dilijan Creative House.
  • In June 2023, to organise a chamber music festival in the cities of Boston, Providence and New York.
  • In October 2023, to organize a jazz festival (Global Jazz Fest), 2 days of which will be held in the Dilijan Creative House (Participants from about 60 countries will come to Armenia).
  • Composers participating in festivals organized by CUA must receive a fee for their works (only in case of premieres). For a symphony ensemble – 100,000 drams, for a chamber ensemble – 50,000 drams.
  • Works of composers participating in festivals organized by CUA must pass a qualifying stage. The most successful will be selected.
  • In case of writing a new work and presenting the score during a vacation in the creative house in Dilijan, CUA members will have the opportunity to relax either at reduced prices or for free.

Avetis Berberyan proposed:

  • To raise the status of the Board as a governing body, create a working group that will review, edit the CUA Charter and submit it to the Board.
  • To hold Board meetings more often, every 1,5 or 1 month, taking into account the need to hold urgent meetings.
  • Board members who fail to attend a Board meeting 3-5 times will be excluded from the Board.

Anna Astaryan proposed:

  • To hold a Scientific Conference after S. Kushnaryan.
  • To allocate one room of the Dilijan Creative House boarding house to the National Academy of Sciences for 10,000 drams per day.

Stepan Babatosyan proposed:

  • To hold an anniversary conference after G. Yeghiazaryan

Arpine Kalinina proposed:

  • To publish the works of the winners of the E. Mirzoyan Young Composers Competition.

Ashot Ghazaryan proposed:

To find international composition competitions on online platforms and post them on the CUA website with a version translated into Armenian, Tigran Hambaryan to receive this position with an additional salary increase.
