CUA MEMBER, COMPOSER SHUSHAN SARGSYAN’S MONO-OPERAS “REFLECTIONS” AND “DIALOGUE” WERE NOMINATED FOR “BEST CONTEMPORARY CLASSICAL WORK” AT THE 68TH ANNUAL GRAMMY AWARDS

Shushan Sargsyan’s 2 new mono-operas, “Reflections” and “Dialogue” were nominated for “Best Contemporary Classical Composition” at the 68th Annual “Grammy” Awards. They reimagine the mono-opera genre, combining depth and innovation.

“Reflections” – a chamber mono-opera for soprano, violin, and piano. It is an intimate musical journey into the depths of the female consciousness. The work weaves fragments of memory, sound, and silence, creating a simultaneously timeless and contemporary soundscape.

“Dialogue” – a monoopera for baritone. Rejecting traditional formats, it compares vulnerability with strength, silence with an explosion of emotion. Through a new harmonious language and subtle textures, this work becomes an artistic discourse on the male human inner world in the language of the 21st century.
