1941 – graduated from the Yerevan State Conservatory after Komitas (YSCK)
1944 – lecturer at the YSCK (head of the music theory department, professor since 1977)
Studied Armenian folk and medieval music, the notation of “khaz”-s, compiled and edited an academic edition of Komitas’s works, wrote chamber-instrumental and vocal works, processed folk and gusan songs, medieval melodies.
