BIOGRAPHY

Studied at Spendiaryan music school

1938 – studied at the Yerevan Music College

1945 – graduated from the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory after Komitas (prof. V. Talyan)

1948 – post-graduate studies at the studio of the House of Armenian Culture in Moscow in G. Litinsky’s studio

Held a number of positions in the Theatre օf the Young Spectator, TV and Radio, and the Composers Union of Armenia (responsible secretary and the chairman of the foreign relations committee).

His works were performed in Finland, Germany, Poland, France, India, England, Austria, Czechoslovakia.

1965 – Honored Art Worker of the ASSR

1968 – together with M. Abrahamyan (the first performer of his cello works) was awarded the title of honorary citizen of Ruse, Bulgaria.
