BIOGRAPHY

1959 – graduated from the violin department of the Tchaikovsky Music School in Yerevan

1959-1964 – viola department at the Yerevan State Conservatory after Komitas (YSCK)

1965-1970 – composition department at the YSCK

Since 1969 – lacturer at the YSCK

Since 1970 – member of the Composers Union of ASSR

1974-1977 – the Havana Conservatory (lecturer)

1983 – Gusan and Folk Song Ensemble of Armenia (founder and director)

1987-1990 – Tatul Altunyan State Song and Dance Ensemble (artistic director and chief conductor)

1998-2006 – dean of the string quartet department at the YSCK

1964 – “Perpetuum Mobile” for violin and piano

1964-1972 – 6 miniatures for string quartet (also version for chamber orchestra)

1967 – Concerto for voice and symphonic orchestra
