Born on 07/11/1937 in Yerevan
1956 – graduated from the piano department of the music school after P. I. Tchaikovsky
1962 – graduated from the musicology department at the Yerevan State Conservatory after Komitas (YSCK) (prof. G. Tigranov)
1965-1969 – post-graduate course at the National Academy of Sciences of The Soviet Socialist Republic of Armenia (NAS ASSR), the All-Union Institute of Art Studies in Moscow (prof. V. Vasina-Grossman)
1963-1965 – music editorial office at the Armenian TV and Radio State Committee (editor)
1969 – NAS ASSR (junior researcher of the music department)
1971 – Candidate’s thesis on “Some issues of establishment and development of the Armenian symphony” (candidate of arts)
1990’s – Consultant at the Al. Spendiaryan State Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet
2005 – doctoral dissertation on the topic “The modern stage of the development of the Armenian symphony based on the work of A. Terteryan” and received (doctor of Arts)
Since 2005 – Member of the professional council of Art Studies at the NAS RA
Since 2006 – Leading researcher at the Music Department of the NAS RA Art Institute
Since 2006 – Member of the Scientific Council of the NAS RA
Since 2009 – Leading researcher of the Diaspora Armenian Art Department of the NAS RA
Since 2016 – leading researcher of the Music Department of the NAS RA
Author of about 100 scientific works dedicated to modern Armenian music, published in scientific collections and magazines, more than 300 articles.
