BIOGRAPHY

1916-1918 – Studied at the Petrograd Conservatory, specializing in music theory (prof. S. M. Lyapunov)

1924 – Graduated from the composition department of the Tbilisi Conservatory (prof.-s N. Cherepnin and M. Ippolitov-Ivanov)

1921-1929 – Worked as a choirmaster and teacher at the House of Armenian Art in Tbilisi

Since 1929 – Lived in Yerevan. Taught conducting at the Yerevan State Conservatory

1938-1953 – Director of the Yerevan Radio Choir

Since 1949 – Member of the CPSU
