BIOGHAPHY

1950 – graduated from the Yerevan State Conservatory named after Komitas (YSCK) (prof. K. Dombaev)

1953 – completed postgraduate studies at the Moscow Conservatory (prof. K. Mostras)

Since 1960 – till the end of her life she taught at YSCK

Since 1982 – Professor

Since 1961 – soloist of the Armenian Philharmonic

In addition to the works of Western European classics, a special place in the repertoire of A. Tsitsikian was occupied by the works of contemporary Armenian composers. She was often co-author, editor and first performer of many of them.

She gave concerts in about 100 cities of the USSR and 27 countries of the world.

Released 4 records in Moscow, Riga, 2 records in the USA and Yerevan on the “Melodiya“ recording company.

The role of A. Tsitsikian as a researcher is very important in Armenian art criticism. She is the author of more than 300 articles, radio and TV programs.

She is the author of research in the field of music history, instrumentation and a founder of a new science – Musical archeology.

In 1977 – in Armenian, and in 2004 – in Russian, her monograph “History and Theory of Bowed Instruments” was published.
