By the suggestion of CUA Chairman Aram Satian, those gathered honored the memory of CUA member, musicologist, professor, Doctor of Art History, and Honored Cultural Figure of the RA Irina Zolotova, who passed away on November 11.
In her speech, Anna Asatryan noted that Lilit Yernjakyan’s book dedicated to composer Ruben Sargsyan, which will also be dedicated to Irina Zolotova, will soon be published. Anna Asatryan also presented a joint scientific conference of the Institute of Arts of the NAS RA, CUA, the Yerevan State Komitas Conservatory, and the Saryan House-Museum, “Lazar Saryan: Life and Work.”
Touching on current issues, CUA Chairman Aram Satian spoke about the new version of the Charter, which has been under discussion for a long time. At the suggestion of the CUA Chairman and by unanimous vote of those present, the Board approved a new version of the Charter, which will be submitted for discussion at the general meeting to be held next year.
A. Satian also presented to the CUA Board members with CUA’s financial flows over the past 10 months, potential expenses for the next year, and possible events and projects.
At the suggestion of the CUA Chairman, the Board members were instructed to present new and interesting ideas that will stimulate the future work of CUA. A. Satian also presented to the Board members with several proposals for cooperation, which are still under negotiation.
A. Satian also emphasized the Yerevan Municipality’s willingness to name certain streets in one of Yerevan’s districts under construction after composers. Accordingly, the Municipality has already approved naming 2 streets, namely, Alexander Adjemian and Aram Satunts. At the same time, Edmond Makaryan noted that CUA has repeatedly approached the mayor’s office regarding the installation of signs directing visitors to the CUA administrative building in two busy areas of the city (on Baghramyan-Demichyan and Saryan-Pushkin streets). Specifically, the recent installation of a copy of Saryan’s painting on the stairs leading from Saryan street to the CUA administrative building will be an excellent opportunity to introduce visitors to our building, which is of historical and cultural significance in this area.
The issue of heating the CUA concert hall was also discussed: the pipes have already been installed.
